GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Bilingual Field Recruiter to join our team in Ottawa.

You will cultivate relationships with our operations and business partners to identify top-tier talent within the local market.

You will oversee the entire recruitment lifecycle, including the review, screening, and recommendation of suitable candidates for specific business lines.

Acting as a strategic partner to the business units you support, you will spearhead key initiatives within your designated regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage high-volume recruiting processes by partnering with field operations leadership to determine staffing needs within an assigned territory.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local Human Resources, operational hiring leaders, and collaborate with local educational institutions.
  • Organize and execute job fairs to connect with local talent.
Candidate Assessment:
  • Review applicant resumes, conduct preliminary phone interviews, and coordinate interviews and assessments between candidates and hiring teams.
Candidate Sourcing:
  • Create and develop sourcing strategies, headhunt, and use outside-the-box ideas to attract quality talent.
  • Leverage community networking events and manage college and university partnership programs.
Compliance and System Management:
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, manage candidate activity in the Workday Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and maintain application/resume file retention according to company policy.

Travel to all sites in your region weekly/quarterly or as business needs require.

Valid Driver's License required.

Fluency in French.

Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems.
