GFL Environmental is a leading diversified environmental services company seeking a skilled Bilingual Recruitment Specialist to join our team in Ottawa.

You will be responsible for cultivating relationships with our operations and business partners to identify top-tier talent within the local market. Your role will involve overseeing the entire recruitment lifecycle, including reviewing, screening, and recommending suitable candidates for specific business lines.

As a strategic partner to the business units you support, you will spearhead key initiatives within your designated regions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing high-volume recruiting processes by partnering with field operations leadership to determine staffing needs within an assigned territory.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with local Human Resources, operational hiring leaders, and collaborating with local educational institutions.
  • Organizing and executing job fairs to connect with local talent.
  • Reviewing applicant resumes, conducting preliminary phone interviews, and coordinating interviews and assessments between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Creating and developing sourcing strategies, headhunting, and using outside-the-box ideas to attract quality talent. Leveraging community networking events and managing college and university partnership programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment laws, managing candidate activity in the Workday Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and maintaining application/resume file retention according to company policy.

Travel to all sites in your region weekly/quarterly or as business needs require. A valid Driver's License is required. Fluency in French and proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems are also essential. Propel your career with a company committed to equal opportunity for all.
