About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Conservation Planner to join our team and contribute to a two-year, multi-million-dollar conservation project. This project aims to advance biodiversity protection through a multi-pronged approach, including Crown land protection, private land conservation, and restoration of ecological connectivity.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Contribute to biodiversity conservation by continuing Crown land protection, accelerating private land conservation, and restoring ecological connectivity.
  • Support Nova Scotia Mi'kmaq in advancing Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas.
  • Enhance conservation stewardship, facilitate collaborative conservation planning and action, and undertake targeted ecological inventory and analysis.
  • Address pre-existing rights, uses, and threats in new and existing protected areas.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Environmental Management, Ecology, or Land Conservation, and 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

You will have demonstrated competency and experience in land conservation or protected areas planning, as well as a practical understanding of current issues and best practice approaches in protected areas establishment and management.
