Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Advisor to join our team at First West Credit Union. As a Senior Financial Advisor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to a portfolio of members by offering a full range of investment, deposit, and complex lending services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Service: Build strong relationships with current and potential members by identifying their financial needs and providing personalized advice and solutions.
  • Member Transactions: Process a full range of complex member transactions, including MFDA products and services, retail mortgages, personal and RRSP loans, and related insurance products.
  • Branch Goals: Support the achievement of annual branch goals and objectives by promoting First West Credit Union's products and services, participating in branch campaigns, and seeking cross-sell and referral opportunities.
  • Branch Support: Mentor other branch employees in the understanding of lending and investment products and services, and provide advice and assistance with member issues.
  • Other Duties: Utilize the Day in the Life as a guideline to prioritize and manage schedules, and align efforts in reaching goals while offering a remarkable, consistent member experience.
Requirements
  • College or Tech School Diploma (2 years) in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mutual Funds License required.
  • Must complete the internal First West certification program specific to this role within the required timeframe.
  • PFP preferred.
  • 2-3 years in a Financial Advisor role, or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to conduct complex advisory, four quadrant conversations.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize needs, identify appropriate products, and build strong member relationships.
  • Proven track record achieving or exceeding sales targets in retail lending and investment products and services.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and solve problems using common sense and sound judgment.
  • Proficient in computer software, e.g. Microsoft Office and banking software programs.
  • Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
Compensation

Salary Range: $55,200 - $70,700. Please note that the salary range mentioned in this job posting should serve as a guide. The final compensation offered may vary based on a variety of factors, including bonuses and/or incentives, or a candidate's skills and experience.
