The Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Hydro-Mechanical team in Winnipeg, MB. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of small to large mechanical engineering projects, providing effective design solutions for multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop modifications to, or entirely new, balance of plant mechanical systems related to water control structures and hydroelectric generating stations.
  • Work as the owner's engineer on large water infrastructure projects, ensuring that quality objectives, schedules, and budgets are met.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to execute project deliverables and pursue new business opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Manage and mentor junior and intermediate staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university; a post-graduate degree would be an asset.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience, 12+ years preferred, in mechanical engineering with demonstrated project management skills.
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Manitoba, as well as other Canadian provinces.
  • Previous consulting experience and experience in the hydroelectric field are preferred.
