Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Counsellor to join our team at Value Partners Investments Inc. As an Investment Counsellor, you will play a critical role in serving as a trusted advisor for our high-net-worth clients, providing a holistic investment and wealth planning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their financial goals and objectives.
    • Provide regular portfolio reviews and investment updates to clients, ensuring they are informed and aligned with their investment strategy.
  • Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management
    • Conduct thorough analysis of client portfolios, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization.
    • Develop and implement tailored investment strategies for clients, taking into account their risk tolerance, financial goals, and investment objectives.
  • Business Development and Collaboration
    • Collaborate with other Investment Counsellors, Associates, and Referring Advisors to deliver exceptional client service and grow our client base.
    • Participate in the Asset Allocation Committee to establish consensus outlooks and define model portfolios.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • University degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
    • A minimum of one: Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), or Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designations in good standing.
    • Licensed as or eligible to become licensed as an Associate Advising Representative (AAR) or Advising Representative (AR) with the Manitoba Securities Commission immediately.
  • Technical Knowledge and Skills
    • Strong understanding of asset classes, investment vehicles, portfolio management, and investment principles.
    • Extensive knowledge of Risk, Trading, and Portfolio Management systems and tools.
    • Technical fluency with the ability to learn and adapt to new technology effectively.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Advanced relationship management skills with the ability to build collaborative working relationships.
    • Superior communication skills with the ability to articulate complex scenarios clearly and succinctly.
    • Ability to work in a high-performing culture, under pressure, and with time-sensitive deadlines.
