Job Overview:

In this role, you will undertake assigned shifts, delivering both proactive and reactive security patrols while responding to incidents. Your responsibilities will include report writing and investigating routine occurrences, as well as efficiently managing emergencies. Physical fitness is essential, as you will be required to stand and walk for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering exceptional service to enhance the client experience
  • Ensuring adherence to standards, rules, and regulations at the assigned site
  • Proactively assisting in creating a positive experience for all visitors
  • Conducting visible patrols of designated areas on foot and engaging positively with tenants, guests, and employees
  • Maintaining awareness of activities and events at the site, assisting visitors as needed
  • Performing normal physical activities, including extended walking and standing, along with basic motor skills
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs through regular keyboarding
  • Enforcing property standards and regulations in a reasonable manner
  • Utilizing tact and diplomacy in various interactions
  • Responding to medical emergencies and providing first aid until professional help arrives
  • Upholding access control procedures
  • Understanding emergency protocols and standard operating procedures
  • Addressing trespassers in a fair and safe manner
  • Assisting with safety inspections
  • Documenting incidents and occurrences with detailed reports
  • Ensuring the safety and security of all individuals on the property
  • Monitoring surveillance systems
  • De-escalating crisis situations
  • Supporting emergency personnel as required
  • Assisting with daily operations as directed
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
  • Willingness to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8-12 hours)
  • Demonstrated professionalism
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior security experience
  • Experience in physical or mall security is advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to manage stress and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Comfortable working in busy, populated areas
  • Clean driving record
  • High attention to detail and observational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

Prerequisites:
  1. Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  2. First Aid & CPR – Level C Certification
