Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing a variety of services, including:


  • Protecting the safety of persons and their belongings on our premises
  • Preventing and minimizing fire, theft, vandalism, criminal damage, and trespass on our premises
  • Enforcing parking regulations, including tagging/towing of unauthorized vehicles and calling out contractors for snow removal
  • Completing interior and exterior patrol rounds of the premises, documenting conditions/safety concerns and weather reports as required
  • Monitoring security consoles, including access control, secure elevator, and CCTV video monitors
  • Verifying visitor and employee identification
  • Responding to alarms and completing incident reports, logs, and daily operating reports
  • Issuing and controlling access cards and keys to personnel, contractors, and visitors as required
  • Locking and unlocking doors as scheduled or required
  • Reporting any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions
  • Maintaining a log of security incidents and reporting occurrences
  • Documenting, securing, and managing lost and found property and property safekeeping
  • Providing safety escort services to emergency contractors on our premises as required
  • Advising our staff immediately of any notifiable incidents
  • Assisting with the management of aggressive visitors
  • Attending events or incidents that may jeopardize the security of the premises and providing a high level of customer service
  • Following SOPs with the management of illicit substances and/or weapons; securing the location of any found items
  • Documenting all events in a notebook or electronic incident report


Requirements & Qualifications:


  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid WSIB-approved First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
  • Minimum one year of experience in security
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
