Job Summary

The Structural Engineer II will be responsible for analyzing existing structures and designing new ones, including building structures, water tanks, and towers. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and the ability to provide quality control review of engineering services performed by other engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing structures and design new ones, including building structures, water tanks, and towers
  • Provide quality control review of engineering services performed by other engineers
  • Work with existing processes to correctly open analysis projects
  • Design modifications to existing structures
  • Work with Designer staff on the development of modification drawings
  • Generate required engineering reports
  • Review Quality Assurance (QA) and final review on structural analysis reports and designs
  • Answer structure-related inquiries from internal and external customers
  • Keep abreast of new technical methods and development related to structural engineering
  • Provide assistance on unusual problems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field required, Master's degree preferred
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
  • 2+ years of Structural Engineering experience
  • Building design experience with steel, concrete, wood, and masonry preferred
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software preferred

Working Environment

This role is performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment under normal office conditions. Less than 5% of work is performed externally, on-site, outdoors, with exposure to the elements of nature.
