Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Corporate Reporting Manager will be instrumental in supporting the corporate accounting and consolidation of our Canadian operations. This position is critical in managing the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing processes and will involve participation in various special projects as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the month-end financial statement closing process, including consolidation, legal entity reporting, and management reporting, ensuring deadlines are met and addressing any potential issues before finalizing the accounts.
- Develop and implement procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the consolidation process.
- Ensure timely and precise elimination of intercompany transactions and balances.
- Manage corporate accounting functions, including payroll and treasury accounting.
- Conduct thorough balance sheet and income statement analyses.
- Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary support and resolve audit-related issues promptly.
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual regulatory submissions, including note disclosures and materials for shareholders.
- Support the CEO/CFO certification processes, including collaboration with the internal audit team for control testing and identifying opportunities for improving control effectiveness and efficiency.
- Oversee the OneStream platform, managing and developing management and external financial reports.
- Stay updated on new accounting standards and assess their implications.
- Identify and apply best practices across finance functions.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed.
Qualifications:
- CPA, CA designation or equivalent.
- Experience in public accounting is advantageous.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- 6+ years of experience in a finance role, including recent experience in accounting and consolidation, with at least 2 years in a management capacity being an asset.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft D365, OneStream, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
- Able to thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize multiple deliverables.
- Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking abilities.
