We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Produce Department Manager to join our team at Loblaw Companies. As a key member of our store management team, you will be responsible for leading the produce department to achieve sales growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Train and develop a high-performing team of produce staff to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Schedule and manage the produce department to meet business needs, ensuring adequate staffing and inventory levels.
- Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner, resolving issues promptly and fairly.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety, food safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement effective merchandising and promotional strategies to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
- Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to inform business decisions and optimize produce department performance.
- Manage inventory levels, receiving, storing, and handling produce to ensure efficient and effective results.
- Ensure proper product rotation, pricing integrity, and signage to enhance sales and profits.
- Assume accountability for store operations in the absence of the Franchisee, including key carrying and alarm responsibilities.
**Requirements**
- 2 years of management experience in a retail or grocery store environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of critical success factors for a discount food store, including low price image and customer focus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Ability to work with minimal functional direction and make sound business decisions.
- Solid knowledge of all aspects of the produce area, operations, and products.
- Open availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays according to the needs of the business.
