We are looking for a Technical Sales Representative to become part of our renowned Nalco Water sales team. In this role, you will be accountable for driving revenue and profit growth through programs and services tailored for the Pulp and Paper sector. Utilizing a consultative sales methodology, you will cultivate relationships with current clients by grasping their core business objectives and implementing system assurance initiatives. Additionally, you will demonstrate strong account management capabilities to convert competitive accounts and introduce innovative technologies to existing clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies within existing customer accounts and targeted competitive accounts to achieve profit growth objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with both current and potential clients to understand their business needs and propose continuous improvement and innovation strategies to enhance sales.
  • Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers in current and prospective customer organizations, including plant or facility executives.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients, addressing and resolving challenges while escalating issues as necessary.
  • Engage in analytical problem-solving by conducting system evaluations, interpreting data, and delivering written recommendations to optimize customer operations.
  • Proactively promote and support Nalco Water innovations and technologies within assigned accounts to foster long-term business partnerships.

Territory Information:

  • This position will primarily serve the province of British Columbia, requiring regular travel to various accounts.
  • Targeted accounts are specifically within the Pulp and Paper industries.
  • Overnight travel of approximately 25% to 50% may be necessary.

Training sessions will take place both in the field and at Nalco Water Headquarters, with travel arrangements covered by the company. Depending on your experience level, training topics may encompass technology, product knowledge, service excellence, business acumen, direct coaching, and leadership development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in technical sales or field sales support.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Willingness to travel to the US for training and meetings.
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry).
  • Experience in the water treatment or specialty chemical sectors.
  • Familiarity with paper machine operations, wet end chemistry, and pulp mill processes.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 – $85,000, with eligibility for performance-based incentive compensation as per company policies.
