About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our Automation & Digitalization division at ANDRITZ. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership
    • Lead control systems projects from inception to completion, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and budgets are met.
  • Control Systems Design and Development
    • Design and develop control systems, including hardware and software components, to meet the specific requirements of a project.
    • Develop and implement control algorithms and logic.
    • Integrate control systems with existing or new equipment, machinery, or processes.
    • Test and debug control systems to ensure proper functionality and adherence to specifications.
  • Project Planning and Management
    • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resourcing.
    • Manage the procurement of necessary equipment and materials.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Define project objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain.
  • Professional Development
    • Mentor and coach junior engineers and technologists.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering with a focus on automation and electrification technologies.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial engineering; preferably in Pulp & Paper.
  • Consulting engineering experience an asset.
  • Registered as an EIT or P.Eng., or AScT in British Columbia.
  • Strong understanding of automation and electrification technologies, including knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Project management experience an asset.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites.
