About the Role:

You'll work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services to patients in your assigned program or service area. Your expertise will ensure that therapeutic recreation practices are evidence-based, patient-centered, and aligned with policies and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote healthy lifestyles and coping strategies
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care and communication
  • Participate in patient rounds, family conferences, and meetings to discuss patient progress and goals

Requirements:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or Recreation and Leisure Studies
  • Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health Change Methodology certification
  • Safe Client Handling Program certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
  • Food Safety Alberta Certification
