Canadian Helicopters Limited (CHL) stands as the foremost helicopter operator in Canada, boasting over 75 years of industry experience.

We are currently seeking qualified Rotary Wing Academic and Flight Training Device (FTD) Instructors to support our operations. Instructors will report directly to the Chief Rotary Wing Instructor and will undertake responsibilities aligned with their qualifications and the needs of the organization.

As part of the SkyAlyne team, CHL is preparing for an expansion of duties for our flight instructor team, particularly in relation to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Future Aircrew Training contract. We are also developing internal career pathways for newly recruited pilots, which will involve initial assignments in remote areas to gain essential skills and experience, potentially leading to roles in this advanced training program.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Conduct ground school sessions,
  • Facilitate FTD training lessons, and
  • Perform maintenance test flights as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
  • Licensing:
  • TC Commercial Pilot's Licence;
  • Foreign Commercial Pilot's Licence;
  • Current or former RCAF helicopter pilot; or
  • Current or former foreign military qualification;
  • B206 and/or B412 endorsements are advantageous;
  • Multi-engine rotary-wing experience is beneficial;
  • Ability to obtain a TC medical for flying roles (not required for non-flying roles);
  • TC Instructor Rating;
  • This requirement may be waived for former RCAF pilots and foreign military instructors under specific conditions;
  • TC Class IV Instrument Rating and Night Vision Goggle experience preferred;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in French is a plus.
