Certified Pharmacy Technician

Overview of Duties
Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and in collaboration with the Team Leader and the Coordinator Pharmacist, you will provide support to the pharmacist in a variety of functions related to the preparation and distribution of medications, managing stock levels, and gathering information regarding patients' home medication regimens. Your primary duties will include:
- Verifying initial doses prepared by pharmacy assistants and compounding medications;
- Receiving and organizing pharmaceutical prescriptions;
- Updating and maintaining patient medication records;
- Preparing and distributing daily medication services;
- Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives, staff training, and documentation processes;
- Ensuring inventory compliance in care units, cabinets, and emergency supplies;
- Compiling data and generating reports for the pharmacy department;
- Executing other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Valid registration as a Pharmacy Technician from the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP);
- Current CPR certification;
- At least six (6) months of recent experience in a community or hospital pharmacy setting;
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques, pharmaceutical calculations, and medical terminology;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Meditech, and internet navigation;
- Intermediate proficiency in both French and English.
