Brockport Home Systems Ltd. is a pioneering construction firm in Canada, committed to enhancing the design, production, delivery, and assembly of essential components for the home building sector.

We are currently seeking a SHIPPING & RECEIVING SUPERVISOR to become a vital part of our skilled team within our unionized manufacturing facility.

As the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, your role will encompass overseeing the entire production workflow, ensuring that production targets are met while promoting and adhering to safe working practices. You will report directly to the VP of Manufacturing and will be tasked with executing the shipping timetable while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve shipping objectives while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
  • Foster a safe and healthy workplace by ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations for production staff.
  • Identify and implement initiatives for process, quality, and cost enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate production and process documentation.
  • Ensure that shipments are organized and scheduled according to the shipping plan.
  • Collaborate with transportation providers to guarantee timely delivery and return of trailers.
  • Guide and motivate team members within the department.
  • Communicate effectively with sites to manage shipping operations.
  • Oversee proper shipping documentation and tracking of trailer fleets.
  • Ensure accuracy in material receipts and proper storage and rotation of materials.
  • Conduct inventory assessments and maintain safety stock levels.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in shipping within an automated union manufacturing environment; experience in the wood products sector is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years in shipping and receiving roles.
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Proficient in team leadership and people management.
  • Knowledge of Employment Standards, Health and Safety regulations, and collective agreement policies.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus.

Work Schedule: Day shift (44 hours per week), Monday to Thursday: 6:30am-4pm, Friday: 6:30am-3pm.
