Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team at Northwest Territories Power Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices for payment, managing vendor relationships, and performing financial reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities- Process invoices for payment, including data entry, authorization approval, and vendor management.
- Balance weekly cheque and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) runs, and prepare emergency cheques as required.
- Maintain good working relationships with suppliers, responding to queries and investigating problems.
- Reconcile key A/P accounts monthly, including the Accounts Payable subledger.
- Participate in Financial Reporting team meetings and contribute to group financial planning.
- Process monthly Visa Statement for payment and download transactions into General Ledger.
- Grade 12 diploma or GED, plus a minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounts payable and/or purchasing.
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, with experience in Great Plains beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- High level of organizational skills to meet deadlines.
Competitive hourly rate of $38.75-$47.07, plus location allowance and comprehensive benefits package.
