About the Position

We are seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist to enhance our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the internal monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes by collaborating with various departments, including finance.
  • Generate forecasts for underwriting results and associated expenses.
  • Collaborate with actuaries to analyze and interpret underwriting outcomes.
  • Assist business units in managing their operational expenditures.
  • Engage in initiatives aimed at improving financial systems and accounting practices.
  • Contribute to the budgeting process for underwriting results and overall expenses.
  • Evaluate existing controls and accounting treatments related to our operations.
  • Provide management with recommendations based on your insights and expertise.
  • Streamline, standardize, secure, and enhance controls of various work files.

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience in accounting, particularly with IFRS standards and/or finance.
  • Familiarity with the Property and Casualty insurance sector is advantageous.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and respond to change.
  • Strong sense of discipline, autonomy, and professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Capable of engaging with individuals at all organizational levels, including management and external stakeholders.
  • Bilingualism is required for candidates in Quebec, as regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues is necessary.
  • No prior Canadian work experience is needed; however, candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
