About the Position
We are seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist to enhance our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the internal monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes by collaborating with various departments, including finance.
- Generate forecasts for underwriting results and associated expenses.
- Collaborate with actuaries to analyze and interpret underwriting outcomes.
- Assist business units in managing their operational expenditures.
- Engage in initiatives aimed at improving financial systems and accounting practices.
- Contribute to the budgeting process for underwriting results and overall expenses.
- Evaluate existing controls and accounting treatments related to our operations.
- Provide management with recommendations based on your insights and expertise.
- Streamline, standardize, secure, and enhance controls of various work files.
Qualifications:
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience in accounting, particularly with IFRS standards and/or finance.
- Familiarity with the Property and Casualty insurance sector is advantageous.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and respond to change.
- Strong sense of discipline, autonomy, and professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of engaging with individuals at all organizational levels, including management and external stakeholders.
- Bilingualism is required for candidates in Quebec, as regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues is necessary.
- No prior Canadian work experience is needed; however, candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
