Repair Supervisor – Regina Saskatchewan

Procor Limited oversees Canada's largest private tank car leasing fleet and operates a comprehensive repair network nationwide. The fleet has expanded to encompass over 30,500 specialized tank and freight cars. Procor also manages 27 repair facilities catering to the petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers, and food sectors.

With the ambition to become the North American leader in providing value-driven railcar repair solutions, it is our innovative and skilled workforce that propels our success. In this pursuit, Procor is actively seeking a Repair Supervisor for our Regina, Saskatchewan location.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote and maintain a productive and successful work environment for all staff by embodying a strong commitment to the organization's cultural values and mission.
  2. Utilize and instruct the Daily Management System Tier 1 and Tier 2 processes to identify challenges and recognize opportunities for lean tool application, while facilitating actions with your team.
  3. Ensure the team comprehends Plant KPIs and their implications.
  4. Provide guidance and mentorship to all direct reports.
  5. Guarantee that safety, quality, and production objectives are achieved for the department(s).
  6. Delegate tasks for their department(s) to align with production schedules.
  7. Assess employee performance, including those on probation.
  8. Verify that employees possess necessary certifications.
  9. Ensure all tasks are executed in accordance with regulatory and customer standards.
  10. Consistently and equitably enforce contractual obligations, shop regulations, and policies.
  11. Conduct daily Toolbox Meetings to keep the workforce informed.
  12. Provide precise reporting of labor and material supplemental repairs.
  13. Adhere to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  14. Ensure employees receive training and required certifications, including A11 and PPE safety certifications.
  15. Lead and facilitate Toolbox meetings for your workforce.
  16. Manage supply expenditures and minimize waste.
  17. Conduct performance evaluations at 30, 60, and 90 days for employees.
  18. Perform hold point inspections.
  19. Manage and communicate employee attendance and coaching on points.
  20. Assign labor schedules within their department.
  21. Ensure daily maintenance by operators.
  22. Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  2. Familiarity with railcar repair techniques, AAR and DOT regulations is advantageous.
  3. Knowledge of relevant railcar standards and regulations published by AAR, CGSB, DOT, BOE, FRA, as well as the Canadian TDG Act and regulations is beneficial.
  4. Experience in railcar repair is a plus.
  5. Prior experience in managing a railcar repair facility is preferred.
  6. Proficient in a Windows environment, with familiarity in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  7. Demonstrated safety performance record.
  8. Experience in union relations.
  9. Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  10. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  11. Effective in building relationships and fostering collaboration.
  12. Positive and motivating attitude.
  13. Proven ability to achieve results.
  14. Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  15. A valid Driver's license is required.
  16. Must be able to work in an environment with continuous exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including dust, fumes, and noise. Ability to climb, stoop, and bend repeatedly, work in confined spaces, carry hand and power tools, and pass company physical including pulmonary function and drug screening is necessary.
