Job Opportunity:

Black & McDonald is seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Specialist to join our Southern Ontario Facilities Maintenance & Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC equipment in Department of National Defense facilities to maximize equipment lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular preventative maintenance, site inspections, and emergency trouble call responses to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Support mechanical maintenance tasks and minor repairs to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document work and track inventory
  • Oversee repair tasks and ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and costs
  • Perform cleaning tasks and other agreed-upon duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements:

  • Education in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical systems, and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • 2-3 years' experience in facilities maintenance, with a strong background in HVAC equipment
  • Strong technical skills in building systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment
  • Demonstrated communication and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a strong commitment to safety and quality
