Job Title: First Cook

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Cook to join our team at Homewood Ravensview, a leading mental health and addiction treatment center in Canada.

Job Summary:

The First Cook will be responsible for supporting the development and management of all food planning, production, and preparation activities. This includes ensuring adherence to high-level service principles, quality culinary standards, and operations management for kitchen and dining areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and establishment of exemplary food presentation standards and techniques
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, occupational health and safety, safe food handling, and applicable policies and procedures
  • Manage kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures
  • Estimate daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicate production needs to kitchen personnel daily

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma recognized in hospitality: Culinary Arts, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related field
  • Professional culinary diploma (Red Seal Chef Status) is an asset
  • Valid Food Safe Level II certification
  • 3 years of recent related experience in a high-volume food service environment
  • Experience with Health and Safety and Infection Control in a food service environment
