Job Title: Broadcast Crew Leader

Wright Canada Holdings Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Broadcast Crew Leader to join our team. As a key member of our forestry crew, you will be responsible for supervising the broadcast treatment of all vegetation within designated areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the broadcast crew to ensure efficient and effective treatment of vegetation.
  • Communicate departmental policies, plans, and procedures to crew members and ensure compliance.
  • Conduct safety training and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Document hazard assessments, inspections, and crew activities.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with clients and crew members.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks with minimal disruption to client operations and public usage.
  • Train and coach crew members to improve performance and provide feedback as necessary.
  • Organize logistics, navigate resource roads, and gain access to remote worksites.
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain large/heavy trucks with trailers and off-road vehicles.
  • Work with helicopters and maintain spray packs and equipment.
  • Assist with payroll and data entry, monitoring and recording of weather conditions, and waiting for ideal weather conditions.
Requirements:
  • Experience managing crews in a forestry context and/or experience working with herbicide application.
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to handle stressful situations and multitask.
  • Valid driver's license and experience driving and maintaining large vehicles.
  • Negative drug screen result(s) and valid first-aid certification.
  • Competency with Avenza PDF Maps, Excel, and mobile apps, as well as map reading skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to carry 50+ pounds, walk rapidly over debris on uneven terrain, and adapt quickly to changing conditions.
  • Decision-making skills, willingness to work in a remote setting, and preparation for work in all weather conditions.
