As pioneers of a community-focused energy investment vehicle, the CED Co-op empowers investors to contribute to solutions that address climate change. With over 800 members and more than $45 million invested in renewable energy projects, we take pride in being the first co-operative in Canada to operate as a public corporation, allowing investments to be held in registered accounts.

Role Responsibilities
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive individual to lead our initiatives in securing investments that create a positive impact through renewable energy projects. This role involves:
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of CED Co-op's securities, renewable energy projects, and impact metrics.
  • Educating members and potential investors on the principles and advantages of impact investing, emphasizing both social and environmental benefits alongside financial returns.
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with members and investors, ensuring ongoing education and support regarding the impact and performance of their investments.
  • Participating in community and industry events to promote our mission and attract new members interested in impact investments.
  • Staying updated on trends in renewable energy markets, regulatory changes, and advancements in impact investing.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team and management to design and implement effective campaigns.
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports to management and the board.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A university degree in business, sustainability, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in business development or customer-facing roles, particularly in financial products or services.
  • A strong desire to engage in prospecting and early-stage business development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both on the phone and in virtual meetings.
  • A proven track record of preparing and delivering reports to management and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, a commitment to customer care, and a high standard of work quality.
  • The ability to identify challenges and develop multiple creative solutions.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to meet key objectives.
  • Proficiency in using computer applications, including databases, CRM platforms, and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A strong affinity for technology and automation, with an understanding of how these tools can enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • A passion for engaging with people and a willingness to follow up and maintain connections.
  • A genuine interest in learning about solar energy, renewables, energy storage, and electric vehicles, along with the intricacies of how these projects are developed.
