Test Automation Developer

The OTTO Motors division of Rockwell Automation is seeking a skilled Test Automation Developer to join the Fleet Software Group. This team is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the Fleet Manager and software applications that enable users to interact with, monitor, and support their fleets of OTTO Autonomous Vehicles.
This role involves participation in the entire product workflow, from customer insight gathering, problem definition, solution proposals, application design, development, and support. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the test, continuous integration, simulation, and Fleet software development teams to provide innovative solutions to the problems our customers face with their fleets of autonomous materials transport vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Designing and executing test campaigns to ensure the quality and reliability of the Fleet Manager and software applications.
- Developing and maintaining automated test suites for web applications managing fleets of virtual or physics-simulated autonomous vehicles.
- Capturing and reporting issues and artifacts, and establishing a strong feedback loop with the development team.
- Supporting continuous integration tools and infrastructure.
- Experience in software development or test automation in an enterprise environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and narrow down the source of issues.
- Proficiency in Linux/Ubuntu-based environments and scripting languages (bash, python).
- Experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and source control (Git).
- Understanding of web technologies, including REST APIs and WebSockets, and experience with API testing, contract testing, and integration testing.
- Experience with databases and database testing (SQL, Postgres).
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and interface with other team members regularly.
- Exposure to container orchestration and tooling (Kubernetes, Helm).
- Experience with web development technologies (React/Redux, npm, Webpack).
- Exposure to ROS/Robotics Systems.
- A strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
