Ideal Candidate:

We are in search of a Senior Solutions Architect to become a vital member of the OSS Architecture and Strategy team, primarily located in Calgary, Alberta. This pivotal leadership role offers significant growth potential.

The successful applicant will be responsible for evaluating and designing solutions for OSS-related initiatives. This includes conducting research, architecting solutions, ensuring governance over design and documentation, and providing technical leadership and mentorship to project implementation and support teams. Additionally, this role involves offering technical guidance for critical business systems and executing the necessary leadership, analysis, and design tasks essential for developing a robust solution architecture. You will design and spearhead the implementation of solution architecture aligned with business needs and back-office system strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in formulating application/back-office architectural strategies, designs, security protocols, governing principles, and standards.
  • Design and implement solutions that ensure reliable product and service delivery while meeting business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and support to project teams and other technical groups.
  • Create design documentation, approaches, and planning materials for approval and transition to implementation in an agile project environment.
  • Engage in project deliveries to ensure adherence to solution designs.
  • Deliver high-quality solutions that satisfy business requirements and align with long-term application/OSS/self-service roadmaps, encompassing application, data, security, infrastructure, network, and integration architecture.
  • Implement and oversee security standards and best practices across the domain.
  • Participate in collaborative architectural governance processes.
  • Contribute to the development of architectural standards across all technology domains.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • 8-12 years of experience in IT and business/industry, focusing on architecture design, systems lifecycle management, and cloud technologies within the Telecommunications sector.
  • Proficiency in automation tools, with knowledge of various automation software products.
  • Experience with replication, high availability, archiving, backup, restore, and disaster recovery/business continuity storage practices.
  • Ability to learn and apply new concepts and technologies for optimal business outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting ideas clearly to diverse internal audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Proven experience in resolving complex technical/design challenges.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and developers to ensure realization of the architecture through mentoring and direct involvement.
  • Ability to operate at all levels, from strategic to tactical, and from reactive problem-solving to proactive analytical thinking.
  • Experience enforcing projects and programs to adhere to an overarching architectural strategy and processes.
  • Familiarity with enterprise technical architecture, RESTful and SOAP services, and TOGAF certification.
  • Provide technical thought leadership while engaging with stakeholders from both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Experience with Network Inventory, Network Assurance, and Network Automation is an asset.
  • Experience with enterprise integration is also an asset.
