Position Overview:
The Technology division at Rogers Communications, Inc. is dedicated to enhancing connectivity for Canadians. We are currently in search of a Senior Solutions Architect to join our OSS Architecture and Strategy team, primarily located in Calgary, Alberta. This pivotal role offers significant opportunities for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and design solutions for OSS-related initiatives.
- Conduct research and architect solutions while ensuring governance over design and documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project implementation and support teams.
- Oversee the development of solution architecture based on business needs and back-office system strategies.
- Assist in formulating application and back-office architectural strategies, including design, security, and governing principles.
- Implement solutions that ensure reliable delivery of products and services aligned with business objectives.
- Generate design documentation for approval and facilitate handoff for implementation in an agile environment.
- Engage in project deliveries to ensure adherence to established solution designs.
- Deliver quality solutions that meet business requirements and align with long-term application and OSS roadmaps.
- Implement and monitor security standards and best practices.
- Participate in collaborative architectural governance processes.
- Contribute to the development of architectural standards across all technology domains.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to achieve customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience in IT and business, focusing on architecture design, systems lifecycle management, and cloud technologies within the Telecommunications sector.
- Proficiency in automation tools and practices.
- Experience with data replication, high availability, archiving, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong ability to learn and apply new technologies for optimal business outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting ideas clearly to diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
- Proven experience in resolving complex technical and design challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical leads and developers to realize architectural goals.
- Capability to operate at various levels, from strategic to tactical, and engage in proactive analytical thinking.
- Experience enforcing architectural strategies and processes in projects and programs.
- Familiarity with enterprise technical architecture, RESTful and SOAP services, and TOGAF certification.
- Demonstrated technical thought leadership while engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Network Inventory, Assurance, and Automation is a plus.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration practices is advantageous.
