Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated School Transportation Operator to ensure the safe and efficient transport of students. This role is vital in maintaining the safety and well-being of young passengers during their daily commutes.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of experience as a school bus driver is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate buses or school vehicles to transport students and other passengers.
  • Monitor and report any delays, mechanical issues, or accidents.
  • Guide passengers during emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Engage with the public in a professional manner.
  • Complete necessary logbooks and reports accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of children while boarding, disembarking, and crossing streets.
  • Maintain control of student behavior during transit to ensure a distraction-free environment.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Possession of a Class 2/2F/C Licence for buses with more than a specified number of passengers.
  • School Bus Endorsement is mandatory.
  • First Aid Certification is required.
Transportation Experience

Experience in local transportation is essential.

Safety and Security Requirements
  • Successful completion of a criminal record check.
  • Driving record check (abstract) is necessary.
Physical and Work Conditions
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye coordination are crucial.
  • This position involves sitting for extended periods.
Personal Attributes
  • Strong client focus and excellent oral communication skills.
  • Good judgment and reliability are essential traits.
