Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will undertake the responsibilities expected of a Registered Nurse within the Emergency/ICU Float Pool Department.
The Registered Nurse (RN) will be accountable for providing both general and specialized nursing care, managing daily assignments, and delivering patient care in the Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit. This role will also involve functioning as a Critical Care Float Nurse, adhering to the Practice Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and the approved care standards of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario 1-2 years of recent experience in Emergency Room and/or Intensive Care Unit (preference for candidates with experience in both areas) ACLS certification and relevant experience BCLS certification Familiarity with arterial lines and central lines maintenance (preferred) Current CTAS training/experience (preferred) CTAS Triage Certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire Medical Directives certification (preferred) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire Completion of Critical Care Certificate (preferred) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire IV Therapy initiation and maintenance (Parenteral Therapy) Experience in a critical care environment (preferred) Experience with mechanical ventilation (preferred) Trauma Management course (TNCC) or equivalent (preferred) Coronary Care course – Level 1 (required) or Level 2 (preferred) Experience with pediatric patients (preferred) PALS or ENPC course (preferred) Emergency Room courses (asset) Ability to work independently under medical directives Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service abilities Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize care and adapt to changes in patient acuity Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills Acceptable performance and attendance records
Compensation:
