Lead Software Engineer, Global Wealth Management Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Global Wealth Management Technology team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable and secure software solutions to support our wealth management business lines.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Software Development: Design, develop, and implement software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
- Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, with a focus on deploying and managing scalable and secure applications.
- Agile Methodologies: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions using Agile principles and methodologies.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that software solutions meet the highest standards of security and compliance, adhering to Scotiabank's risk management framework.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including design documents, code reviews, and testing plans.
- Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Stakeholder Management: Provide expert advice to key stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, and technical teams.
- Technical Expertise: At least 7 years of experience in software development, with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
- Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, with a focus on deploying and managing scalable and secure applications.
- Agile Methodologies: Strong understanding of Agile principles and methodologies, with experience working in Scrum or Kanban teams.
- Security and Compliance: Experience with security and compliance frameworks, including OWASP and PCI-DSS.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
