- Determining the most effective permitting routes for intricate projects and preparing necessary technical studies and application documents.
- Conducting or overseeing fieldwork such as stream/wetland delineations to complete biological documentation for projects.
- Traveling as required, including overnight stays.
- Producing high-quality technical reports and environmental documentation, including Biological Resource Assessments, biological CEQA/NEPA analyses, Jurisdictional Delineations, and permit application packages.
- Managing biological permitting projects (e.g., Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Coastal Act, among others).
- Overseeing and executing moderately sized projects and significant components of larger projects with minimal supervision.
- Coordinating and monitoring assignments, scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Providing technical guidance to staff and subcontractors.
- Implementing quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Engaging in client outreach.
- Writing proposals and developing cost and schedule estimates.
- Delivering presentations.
- A BS or MS in Biology or a related field from an accredited institution; or a PhD in Biology or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 4 years of progressive and successful experience in environmental consulting across the areas of Technical Work, Project Management, and Business Development.
- A proven track record of supervising staff, being solution-oriented, and cultivating positive relationships with team members, clients, agencies, and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated expertise in: Biological resource assessments (CEQA/NEPA), Botanical surveys, Wildlife species surveys, Wetland delineations & jurisdictional determinations, CRAM assessments, Regulatory permitting, Regulatory compliance oversight and monitoring, Restoration planning, habitat management, and mitigation monitoring.
