Senior Environmental Engineer

GHD is seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario. As a key member of our North American team, you will be responsible for providing senior leadership and mentorship on environmental remediation projects, working closely with multi-disciplinary project teams, and managing design projects including project teams, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide senior leadership and mentorship on environmental remediation projects.
  2. Work within multi-disciplinary project teams, providing environmental advice to other GHD teams.
  3. Manage design projects including project teams, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  4. Manage the development and review of technical environmental reports, drawings, and specifications.
  5. Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may at times entail supporting other GHD office locations requiring some travel.
  6. Support and mentor junior team members in a learning and collaborative atmosphere.
Requirements:
  1. 15+ years of experience in environmental engineering.
  2. Accredited Professional Engineer in Canada or the US.
  3. Civil or environmental engineering degree.
  4. Possession of PE designation to be used to stamp/certify designs.
  5. RMP designation considered an asset.
  6. Experience with developing and implementing strategies for complex remediation and/or risk management.
  7. Experience in the technical delivery of investigations, designs including drawings and specifications, and construction support for environmental remediation projects in Canada and the US.
  8. Experience and desire to provide high profile clients with responsive and innovative solutions.
  9. Experience working on Canadian and/or US Federal projects is considered an asset.
  10. Proven experience in client advocacy while developing trusted relationships with regulators.
  11. Strong understanding of Canadian (including Ontario) environmental legislation.
  12. Understanding of US environmental legislation considered an asset.
  13. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and report writing skills.
  14. Strong commitment to client service excellence.
