The Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding our presence through comprehensive planning, project oversight, and financial management of new store openings and renovations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple retail construction and renovation projects across the country, ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders, including real estate managers, architects, engineers, store teams, contractors, and Amplifon leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Real Estate team to assess site feasibility and construction-related lease requirements, including evaluating Tenant Allowance needs and build-out timelines.
  • Identify and qualify new General Contractors to establish preferred partnerships and enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Review and approve architectural plans; interpret drawings and CAD files; and scope bidding and contracted work.
  • Prepare construction estimates for capital requests and annual planning, tracking project budgets from site evaluation to completion.
  • Manage the bidding process to ensure submissions accurately reflect the required scope of work.
  • Supervise on-site activities during construction, managing contractors and vendors while providing progress updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely submission of closeout packages, coordinating with the Real Estate team for necessary Tenant Allowance documentation.
  • Build effective relationships and understand municipal permit processes and timelines.
  • Lead weekly meetings to align all partners on project scope, schedule, permitting, and budget.
  • Deliver projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements on all construction sites to mitigate risks.
  • Engage in facilities management, addressing issues as they arise and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in design, pre-construction, and construction processes, particularly in retail tenant improvements and renovations.
  • Experience in facilities real estate, commercial real estate, or property management is advantageous.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Completion of a Project Management, Construction, Building Technology Diploma, or an Architectural/Engineering Degree.
  • Ability to conduct financial analyses and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in budget management, scheduling, and contract negotiations.
  • General knowledge of Building Codes across Canada.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Prior design or architecture experience is preferred.
  • Experience in managing construction projects in shopping centers and urban locations is beneficial.
  • This position requires local travel based on project needs.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office, OneDrive, DocuSign, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet is essential.
