Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parliamentary Assistant to provide administrative support to our Member of Parliament. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including reception duties, research, and logistical support for tours and events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to visitors and stakeholders, including welcoming and orienting them to Parliament Hill.
  • Conduct research and provide administrative support for parliamentary committees and other initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for tours, events, and outreach activities, including arranging transportation and accommodations as needed.
  • Monitor and respond to incoming correspondence and invitations, ensuring timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Canadian politics and parliamentary services, staying up-to-date on current events and issues.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
Requirements
  • University degree or post-secondary education in a related field, combined with experience working in an administrative support role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Canadian politics and parliamentary services, with a strong understanding of government priorities and messages.
Assets
  • Experience working in a parliamentary or government office, or in a related field.
