Clinical Nursing Educator - Continuing Education - Postnatal Unit

Position Overview: The Clinical Nursing Educator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational framework within the nursing unit. This position is accountable for serving as a clinical educational resource, facilitating the learning journey, and assessing educational outcomes. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating unit-specific orientation programs in collaboration with the Nursing Director, engaging in educational initiatives within the department, and contributing to the overall educational landscape of the organization.

Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of two (2) years of recent nursing experience in Newborn and Postpartum care is essential.
  • Experience in high-risk antepartum nursing is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with newborn care nursing is advantageous.
  • Background in educational program development is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching is preferred.
Educational Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Current registration in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is an asset.
Certification and Licensure:
  • Active registration with the relevant nursing regulatory body is mandatory.
  • Participation in professional nursing associations is preferred.

Note: Completion of the Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certificate is required at a mutually agreed time.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Understanding of the scope of practice as outlined in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Proficiency in computer systems and common software applications, including word processing and presentation tools, is necessary.
  • Candidates will be evaluated based on experience, education, clinical knowledge, leadership capabilities, communication skills, critical thinking, and teaching proficiency.
