The Clinical Nurse Educator will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs for nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and registered psychiatric nurses. The incumbent will also be responsible for teaching and learning activities, nursing practice standards, patient education development, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff, including curriculum design, instructional materials, and evaluation.
- Teach and facilitate learning activities, including workshops, seminars, and online courses.
- Develop and maintain nursing practice standards, including policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Develop and implement patient education programs, including educational materials, workshops, and online resources.
- Support the professional development of nursing staff, including mentoring, coaching, and evaluation.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing required; master's degree in nursing preferred.
- Minimum of four years recent related nursing experience, with demonstrated competency in a defined area of clinical nursing practice.
- Previous experience in teaching, education, and program development and evaluation is preferred.
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) is required.
- Active participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.
- Certificate or certification in a related specialty area is preferred.
- Competency with word processing and presentation programs is required.
- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations is required.
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings.
- Must be able to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg (25 lbs.).
- Travel to other health care facilities within the Shared Health region will be required.
