About the Role:

The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our recruitment team, you will be responsible for attracting, selecting, and hiring top talent to support our mission of delivering exceptional child care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to meet business needs, including creating job postings, shortlisting applications, and coordinating interviews.
  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers to understand their current and future hiring needs, and provide expert advice on recruitment best practices.
  • Manage and maintain secure confidential personnel files for employees, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Conduct reference checks for potential job applicants, and attend career fairs and employment events to promote the organization and publicize current employment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Childcare Recruitment & Belonging to place practicum students and apply for education grants.
  • Assist with immigration documentation, including BC PNP and LMIAs, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information related to the centre, children, families, and staff.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Management, or Human Resources.
  • Experience recruiting and hiring foreign talent using LMIA's and BC PNP's an asset.
  • Motivated self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills, able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to attend events and meet the needs of candidates.
  • High level of customer service skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Three satisfactory professional references.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle an asset.
