Sales Development Representative

MRC Global is a leading provider of products and services to the oil and gas industry. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team.
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and achieving established financial goals, as well as developing and growing sales in an assigned territory. This will involve generating new business through analysis of the territory, identifying new customers and markets, and growing existing accounts through proactive sales initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a sales plan to achieve maximum profitability and meet or exceed gross margin goals.
- Deliver superior service to customers through consultative sales, product demonstrations, and cost savings analysis.
- Research and develop information on new projects and customer accounts within the assigned territory.
- Negotiate with vendors and coordinate efforts with Supply Chain groups for best product prices.
- Work with Branch/Regional management and National Accounts team to develop strategic territory business plans and implement sales strategies.
- Ensure contractual compliance and communicate work in process, threats, opportunities, and related market trends as appropriate.
- Develop and continually improve product knowledge, pricing, and MRC Global systems, procedures, and strategy.
- Aggressively respond to and meet sales opportunities by serving as the source for customers' required information.
- Develop customer retention strategies and drive effective partnership with Branch team.
- Perform related administrative functions in accordance with MRC Global procedures.
- Advocate and engage in promotion and maintenance of safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and customer service, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. They will also have a strong understanding of PVF materials and the ability to understand scope of services, including pricing, supply, and contract terms.
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently.
- Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines and expectations.
Working Conditions:
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to travel within and outside the branch service area, with occasional overnight stays.
