Job Summary

Core-Mark Canada is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team. As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing and expanding a designated sales region, with a focus on growing sales and profit margins through analyzing individual customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grow Sales and Profit Margins: Analyze individual customer needs and develop strategies to increase sales and profit margins.
  • Prospecting and Onboarding: Identify and pursue new customer opportunities, and onboard new customers to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Customer Education and Compliance: Educate customers on convenience and foodservice promotions, programs, marketing policies, service, delivery specifics, and industry activities to ensure compliance.
  • Sales Presentations: Conduct sales presentations to customers, including sample convenience and foodservice products, and new product promotions.
  • Sales Strategy and Territory Management: Develop and execute a sales strategy tailored to individual customers, and manage a sales territory to maximize sales growth.
  • Account Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Review weekly/monthly reports with store managers and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Problem-Solving: Minimize accounts receivable problems by monitoring accounts for compliance with credit terms and following up on any issues.
  • Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date on pricing trends within the sales territory to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Communication: Communicate changes in product lines or market trends to customers and the company.
  • Merchandise Returns: Assist with processing merchandise returns.
Requirements
  • Proven Sales Success: Proven track record of closing sales for a variety of product lines.
  • Attention to Detail: Detail-minded and organized, with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Travel and Time Management: Proven experience with travel and effective time management.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to conduct professional, results-driven customer presentations.
  • Solutions-Minded: Solutions-minded with the ability to analyze and critically evaluate situations.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to learn computer programs, systems, and new technology solutions as they relate to the position.
  • Microsoft Office Applications: Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Energetic and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: General knowledge of food safety standards, including basic HACCP practice and cold-chain integrity, transporting of perishable foods, and maintaining Serv-Safe certification.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Reliable Vehicle: Must own a reliable vehicle with current insurance.
  • Previous Experience: 1-3 years of previous experience in a customer-facing role.
