We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Relief Support Assistant to join our team at William Konkin Elementary. As a Relief Support Assistant, you will provide assistance to teachers and other professionals in the delivery of regular or alternate programs of study for students with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with autism in a educational setting
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementation
  • Collaborate with the school-based team to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy for students

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
  • Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate Program
  • Completion of POPARD program (30 hours)
  • BC Driver's License - Class 5 Full Privileged with an exemplary driving record
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
  • 6 months of experience working with people with behavioral disorders
