  • Dispose of expressed breast milk and other nutrition products in accordance with unit protocols.
  • Manage inventory storage effectively.
  • Engage in ongoing education for yourself and team members.
  • Comply with infection prevention and control practices set by the hospital.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance operational efficiencies and improve feeding policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field, or a 3-year diploma from an accredited college program.
  • Completion of a CSNM accredited program in Food Services Administration and Technology is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management is an asset.
  • Knowledge of neonatal nutrition and therapeutic diets is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with computerized diet order entry systems is preferred.
  • Experience with pediatric patient populations is a plus.
  • Inventory control experience related to milk preparation is beneficial.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

What We Offer

Working at NYGH means being part of a dynamic team of healthcare professionals in one of Canada's premier hospitals. This position is part-time with shifts of six hours, including weekends in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We provide a competitive compensation package, including pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay, and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan.
