About the Role

The Ontario Region Claims Team at Gallagher is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Claims Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional claims service and advocacy to our clients, maintaining and exceeding the service standards of the Gallagher Claims division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Intake and management of commercial clients' new claims and reporting to insurance companies
  • Providing claims counseling to insureds in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Advocating on claims, as needed, on behalf of clients with insurers
  • Data input using the EPIC Broker Management System
  • Maintaining, coordinating, and updating client documents, including Word summaries and Excel spreadsheets
  • Leading claim analysis meetings with commercial clients and/or the Client Solutions Team
  • Collaborating with Loss Control Adjusters to establish or modify existing programs
  • Liaising between insured and insurance carrier during settlement negotiations, as required
  • Documenting and acting on incoming communication in a timely fashion
  • Attending occasional client meetings within the GTA, as requested by management
  • Mentoring new team members and facilitating onboarding within the claims department
  • Attending company-sponsored seminars and educational activities to maintain product knowledge and expertise
Requirements
  • Claims adjusting experience or commercial broker experience, including claims advocacy
  • RIBO, CAIB, CIP designations an asset or courses completed towards designations
  • Prior commercial insurance and/or claims experience required
  • Comprehensive and effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task between a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with EPIC and/or an electronic filing system an asset
