Job Title: Senior Buyer

Alamos Gold is seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our team at the Island Gold Mine in Northern Ontario. As a key member of our Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for executing procurement category strategies to deliver goods and services that meet the mine's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and implementation of procurement category plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Manage the full RFx process, including drafting and negotiation of agreements with suppliers.
  • Ensure category strategies are aligned with business and operational requirements.
  • Deliver value creation that aligns to the overall Supply Chain strategy.
  • Manage the continuous supply of required goods and materials while mitigating supply risks.
  • Prepare and present monthly performance reports to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • 5-8 years of procurement experience in a mining industry or operations-focused environment.
  • Degree qualified with a focus on engineering; ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) an asset.
  • Significant commercial, negotiation, and deal-making experience required.
  • Experience with Category Management, sourcing, and contracting with Total Cost Ownership approach preferred.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Advanced numerical, analytical, and administrative skills, including MS Office and SAP MM module proficiency.
Working Conditions:

This is a 4 days on / 3 days off hybrid role with opportunities to work onsite and from home.
