Position: Parent Education Facilitator

About the Role

The Parent Education Facilitator is responsible for leading educational sessions and skill development workshops for families in both community settings and virtual platforms. This role focuses on equipping parents with effective strategies to enhance their children's social and emotional competencies while addressing behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct group sessions aimed at fostering parenting skills and improving family dynamics.
  • Provide ongoing support to families through phone consultations as necessary.
  • Establish trust and rapport with parents and caregivers, ensuring a supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with local organizations to promote awareness of available resources and programs.
Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility to accommodate the 12-week program, with sessions held weekly. The role may involve both in-person and virtual engagements.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Studies, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with vulnerable families and facilitating group programs.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess family needs and tailor programming accordingly.
  • Commitment to professional development and training in relevant methodologies.
