Position Overview

The Horne Smelter and CCR Refinery, integral parts of Glencore's North American Copper Operations, are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance and Production Supervisor. With nearly a century of experience, our facilities are pivotal in the production of copper utilized in numerous everyday items. Our workforce of over 1,200 skilled professionals represents the core of our operations, contributing to the sustainable supply of essential commodities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance and Production Supervisor, you will:
  • Effectively oversee the allocation and management of both human and material resources within the department.
  • Enhance and maintain the quality management system, ensuring adherence to established processes.
  • Identify, delegate, and coordinate projects in alignment with industry demands and market trends.
  • Facilitate communication and share best practices with other Glencore divisions regularly.
  • Manage external quality assurance inquiries efficiently.
  • Support and supervise the primary sample preparation teams.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and communication of the smelter's primary energy requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, geology, or a scientific field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a comparable role.
  • Proven experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on projects related to commercial metallurgy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a results-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Language Proficiency: Excellent command of both English and French, both spoken and written.

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to the Horne Smelter.
