We are currently seeking a FULL POSITION for a STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to contribute to our client's projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural analysis and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Interpret and evaluate structural drawings effectively.
  • Perform hand calculations in accordance with American and Canadian engineering standards.
  • Utilize design software and drafting tools proficiently.
  • Engage in minimal travel to project sites for condition assessments.
  • Oversee project sites to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Participate in site visits and meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Execute structural design and analysis for various materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Create detailed sketches of structural components.
  • Possess experience in industrial applications, particularly in automotive and conveyor systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural design.
  • Professional Engineer License in Ontario and/or Michigan or eligibility to obtain within a year (P.Eng or P.E).
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical engineering experience.
  • Background in the automotive sector is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD is essential.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following software tools:
    • Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional
    • Autodesk Advance Steel detailing
    • SAP 2000
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in multiple languages is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and American structural engineering standards and codes.
  • Ability to think critically and manage project details effectively.
  • Proven experience in structural analysis and design across various materials.
  • Experience with automotive and conveyor structural design projects.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Eligibility to obtain a work permit in Canada.
  • Willingness to travel across borders to support client needs.
