Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Structures Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a full range of aircraft sheet metal duties, including disassembly, modification, repair, and reassembly of complex aircraft metal items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair, Fabrication, or Modification of Airframe Structures: As assigned, you will repair, fabricate, or modify airframe structures in accordance with approved technical instructions.
  • Quality, Cost, and Time Commitments: As a member of our team, you will work to achieve quality, cost, and time commitments.
  • Mentoring Apprentice Technicians: You will assist in mentoring Apprentice Technicians to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Aircraft Inspection: You will perform initial inspections of aircraft upon receipt into heavy maintenance within the scope of Transport Canada S License.
  • Maintenance Release: You will perform maintenance release of completed tasks and address any identified discrepancies.
  • Inspections and Serviceability: You will perform inspections and use SRM/drawings to determine the serviceability of parts/structures.
  • Damage Assessment: You will map damage out of limits and send assessments to engineering for validation.
  • Safety Management System: You will actively participate in our Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting safety hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations.
  • Work Environment: You will maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Education and Experience

  • Transport Canada 'S' License: You must hold a valid Transport Canada 'S' license.
  • Experience in Aircraft Structural Repair: You must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Aircraft Structural Repair, Modification, and Fabrication.
  • Clear Understanding of Technical Documentation: You must have a clear understanding of manufacturers and regulatory documentation, including Service Bulletins, Engineering Drawings, etc., and ensure a thorough application of technical documentation.
  • Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS): You must have a clear understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS).
  • Extensive Knowledge of Tools and Processes: You must have extensive knowledge and skilled use of the tools of the trade and the processes to perform duties as assigned.
  • Own Set of Tools and Toolbox: You must have your own set of tools and toolbox (specialty and calibrated tools provided).

Working Conditions

  • Hangar Floor Work: You will work on the hangar floor.
  • Shift Work: You will work shifts.
  • Overtime: Overtime may be required.
