Software Controls Engineer

About the Role:

Mold-Masters is seeking a highly skilled Software Controls Engineer to join our team in Georgetown, ON. As a key member of our R&D operations, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying new and existing software control systems for our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop advanced control algorithms and software solutions to support business initiatives.
  • Design and develop specifications and software selection for new control systems.
  • Develop and improve software using PLC, embedded firmware, and microcontroller architecture for existing products.
  • Document coding development and testing completed.
  • Collaborate with production areas to enhance product quality and develop new ideas on control systems.
  • Act as a mentor to the software controls engineering group.
  • Make recommendations for productivity and method improvements.
  • Occasionally visit customer sites to troubleshoot products and provide solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with.NET, IEC 1131, C#, and graphical user interfaces.
  • Experience with PLC programming, servo drive control, and Industrial Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with electrical design and troubleshooting.
