Software Controls Engineer

Position Summary:

Mold-Masters is seeking a Software Controls Engineer to enhance our engineering capabilities. In this role, you will be tasked with the design, development, and modification of software control systems tailored for Mold-Masters products, aligning with strategic business objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass research into sophisticated control algorithms, selection of suitable software and hardware, as well as code design, testing, debugging, and implementation into production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on control equipment and explore innovative control methods and technologies.
  • Create and develop specifications and software selections to support initiatives for new control systems.
  • Design, develop, and enhance software utilizing PLC and embedded firmware microcontroller architecture for existing products.
  • Formulate procedures and user documentation for all processes related to software and control systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of coding development and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve product quality and generate new ideas for control systems.
  • Provide mentorship to the software controls engineering team.
  • Propose recommendations for productivity enhancements and method improvements.
  • Occasionally engage with customers to troubleshoot products and offer solutions for new product implementations.
  • Achieve productivity targets while ensuring compliance with ISO standards.

Team Overview:

The Software Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting R&D operations by contributing to the development of new products, optimizing existing control systems, and swiftly identifying and resolving technical issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in .NET, IEC 1131, C#, and graphical user interface design.
  • Experience with PLC programming, servo drive control, and Industrial Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with electrical design and troubleshooting techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of C and C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with B&R, Bosch, and Keba control systems.
