Software Controls Engineer

Position Summary:

Mold-Masters is seeking a Software Controls Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects. In this role, you will take charge of the design, development, and enhancement of software control systems tailored for Mold-Masters products, aligning with our strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass exploring advanced control algorithms, selecting suitable software and hardware, and overseeing the entire software lifecycle from design to implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on control equipment and explore new control methodologies and technologies.
  • Create and refine specifications and software selections to support the development of new control systems.
  • Design, develop, and optimize software using PLC and embedded firmware for existing products.
  • Establish procedures and user manuals for all software and control system processes.
  • Document the development and testing phases of coding.
  • Collaborate with production teams to enhance product quality and generate innovative ideas for control systems.
  • Provide mentorship to the software controls engineering team.
  • Propose enhancements for productivity and methods.
  • Occasionally visit client sites to troubleshoot and provide solutions for new products.
  • Ensure compliance with productivity targets and ISO standards.

Team Overview:

The Software Controls Engineer will support R&D efforts in developing new products, refining existing control systems, and swiftly addressing any issues that arise.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in .NET, IEC 1131, C#, and graphical user interface design.
  • Experience with PLC programming, servo drive control, and Industrial Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with electrical design and troubleshooting processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of C and C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with B&R, Bosch, and Keba control systems.
